Indications:
Convolvulus pluricaulis, widely popular as Shankhapushpi, is a native plant to India commonly mentioned in Ayurveda as rasayana. It is mainly known as intellect promoting herb which is used in mental stimulation and rejuvenation therapy. 

Shankhapushpi is laxative, aphrodisiac, nervine tonic, rejuvenator, health and complexion promoting herb. The whole plant is used for medicinal purposes. The leaves are the major constituent of an herbal drug 'ShankhaPushpi', a popular brain tonic. The drug is used as antiepileptic. Shankhapushpi is also

useful in insanity,insomonia, delirium, chronic cough, asthma, haematemesis, pyuria, dysuria, seminal dibility. It is a sovereign remedy in bowel complaints especially dysentery.  One study shows shankhpushpi to have anti-ulcer effects due to augmentation of mucosal defensive factors like mucin secretion and glycoproteins. The ethanolic extract of the plant reduces total serum cholesterol, triglycerides, phospholipids and nonesterfied fatty-acid. It is also useful to reduce blood pressure, tension and helps in mental disease.
