Causes with Symptoms & Signs:
Leucorrhoea or whites is a condition in
which there is a whitish discharge from the
female genitals (vagina). Leucorrhoea can be
categorizes under two types physiological
and pathological. Physiological Leucorrhoea
is a common condition as the discharge is
normal due to excitement or other factors
like nervousness.
Such a discharge need not
any medical attention. The common conditions
that lead to such a discharge include
puberty, sexual excitement, pregnancy, etc.
The pathological Leucorrhoea occurs due to
general ill health and under nutrition,
dysfunctional state in genital tract,
psychological factors.
Leucorrhoea usually
occurs due to certain infections in genital
tracts but there are other factors also that
can cause this disease. According to
Ayurveda it is caused by the vitiation of
kapha and commonly visible among weak and
anaemic women. Wrong feeding habits and
excessive accumulation of toxins in the body
can also cause white discharge. In young
women, leucorrhoea may occur during
inter-menstrual periods due to the
thickening of the mucous membrane in the
reproductive organs. Displacement of womb
and lack of hygiene are also important cause
for white discharge. The women suffering
from white discharge may experience pain in
the lumbar region and the calves dragging
sensation in the abdomen. Weakness,
tiredness, constipation, frequent headaches,
intense itching and black patches under the
eyes are some other common symptoms of
Leucorrhoea or white discharge. |
