What is impotence?
Impotence or as commonly known as Erectile
dysfunction (ED, is a common problem among
older men. In the present time there are
also many young men suffering from this
problem.
What are symptoms of
impotence?
Erectile dysfunction is the situation under
which a man is unable to achieve and sustain
an ideal erection for sexual intercourse. As
a general estimate 1 out of 10 males suffer
from this problem chronically and there are
many males who suffer from this problem time
to time! Until recently, doctors thought
impotence was mainly due to psychological
causes. But in the recent year doctors have
started believing more than half of all the
cases are due to by physical problems.
Common causes of impotence or ED are such as
stress, depression, arteriosclerosis
(hardening of the arteries), and very often
anxiety to be unable to perform at the time
of sexual intercourse.
Though ED (Impotence) can
be treated by the Ayurveda herbal medicines,
Ayurveda recommends as a first step to lead
an healthy life. It is recommended that
smoking & Alcohol consumption should be
reduced considerably if can be abandoned
completely. There should be a healthy diet,
physical exercise should be a part of daily
routine. One should limit the amount of fat
and cholesterol in the diet.
Yoga and breath exercise like Pranayama in
the early morning hours are highly
recommended. Last meal should be taken at
least 3 hours before sleeping time. When one
should go the bed you should be tired enough
physically and mentally so that you get
enough and sound sleep and the body can rest
and relax without any disturbing factor. If
you are taking some medicines we advice you
to consult your doctor about your ED problem
as this could also be a side effect of the
medicines being consumed by you. In most of
the cases your doctor will be able to
recognize you and subscribe you a
substitute.
Diabetes is one of the
main cause amount 25 % of the patients
suffering from ED as diabetes may cause
nerve deterioration. However keeping the
diet control and blood sugar under control
may decrease the problem of Impotence. |
